Onto our guest today. Ally from Quilting Mumma contacted me on my last Facebook call out for new people to feature on the blog. I was excited to seethe things that she had made. They are such gorgeous designs and don't get me started on the fabrics she uses. Aren't they just funky? So take it away Ally.................
Hi there!
I’m
Allison, the designer behind “Quilting Mumma”. As the name suggests I am a
mumma of three gorgeous kidlets and I LOVE to quilt! I have had my work
featured in several Australian Patchwork magazines and I have a regular column
“Quilting Mumma” in Down Under Quilts Magazine.
I design
a boutique range of Quilts, Cushions and Purses using modern and fresh fabrics.
I LOVE fabrics, in fact I can often be found trawling the internet to find the
latest gorgeous new design. As soon as I spy a range that I love, my mind
goes into over drive. Designing products that I can make into useable items for
others to love!
I
stumbled into this business after a friend suggested we go to a local sewing
class together. After that night I was hooked, I went out and bought my first
sewing machine- and began designing quilts.
My designs are modern and fresh
takes on traditional designs, and I still get so thrilled when someone emails
me to show me a picture of a project I had designed! I have recently opened up
some spots to make commissioned quilts for customers and have begun selling
items such as purses and cushions!
