My First Food Photography Job

I have some exciting news to share (well it's exciting for me anyway)... I landed my first paid food photography job!!!. I finalised the deal while I was away on holidays in Hervey Bay and basically hit the ground running since I returned home on Tuesday.  This is the room I will be holed up in over the next 3 1/2 weeks photographing 55 recipes.

It is going to be a challenge - but I am up for the challenge of cooking, styling and photographing these 55 recipes over 29 days. If you sit down and work out the math its a minimum of 2 recipes a day add in a very active 8 1/2 month old and your have the perfect recipe for a tired mummy!

Peanut Butter & Choc Chunk Cookies

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chunk Cookies.... I really don't have to introduce these to you and make up a fancy story for them to make them more enticing. Fresh from the oven still warm and the chocolate still soft washed down with a cold glass of milk, you are in cookie heaven.

I made a batch of these a week ago and husband said they were one of his favourite cookies so far. They were quickly consumed so I made another batch for him to eat while we are away on holidays.

Another Set of Bar Stools....

Don't you just love these sad old bar stools. They looked pretty miserable in the OP shop when I was browsing through the furniture section . They were pretty dated with some seriously dark stain on the legs and dark leather seats.

They weren't in terrible condition and someone may of been happy with them as they were. However I wanted to French-ify them and give them a extreme makeover. They didn't need to lose weight, get their hair or teeth done. They did need a bit of a new wardrobe on the cushions and maybe a bit of a "spray tan" with some white spray paint.

Review: Perfect Toaster by Russell Hobbs

Have you even woken up your baby with the ear piercing scream of the smoke alarm because you burnt the toast again? Oh the tragedy of it when you do. "WAHHHH!" goes the baby, your heart drops to your toes and you think there goes my relaxing breakfast or my only chance to sit down and eat today! I can say this has happened to me often in the early stages of motherhood and I just gave up eating toast for breakfast in the morning because I knew 9 times out of 10 I would always burn the toast and wake the baby.

Until I met my new sporty red "Ferrari" toaster..... The Russell Hobbs Perfect Toast Toaster.

Eggplant & Vegetable Curry

Now that the weather is slowly cooling down I am starting to crave more warming, comforting dishes that will fill my belly up with goodness. For some reason I always crave more carby, naughty things when it gets cold and that is half the reason why I think I look at the scales at the end of winter and see a few extra "friends" joined me over the chilly period. Do you have the same problem?

I swear not this year. I just lost all my IVF and baby weight and I don't want it to come and join me again anytime soon that's for sure. So I have tried to incorporate warming and comforting recipes into my repertoire that will be kind to my hips this winter period. Enter this curry.....

Savoury Almond Pulp Crackers - GF, DF

This recipe is the runner up to the winning recipe I posted last week. It still is a great recipe but in a head to head with the Banana, Apple and Carrot loaf it came second best. I make these using the leftover almond pulp from making almond milk for my Almond Milk Yoghurt.

I normally have a fairly big batch of pulp to find uses for and don't always know what to do with it. I am a stickler for not throwing food out and try to use things up as much as I can.

Insta-Recipe - Turkish Pide

Due to popular demand I am posting this recipe today.... I had these on Friday night for dinner and posted this picture on Instagram & Facebook. A lot of you were asking for the recipe so here it is. These turned out better than I expected and husband rated them to be pretty good compared to the ones he has tasted at our local turkish restaurant.

So if you can't go out on a Friday night (or any night) becuase of a certain little being needing bedtime, crack open a bottle of wine and whip these little babies up for a night in!
