Hi.

Welcome to The Whimsical Wife. Thanks for popping in to share my adventures in the kitchen, in my home and my workshop as I Cook, Create & Decorate.

Happy Australia Day.....

Happy Australia Day everyone.....

I know this may be a little dum on my behalf but I couldn't remember what Australia Day was actually for? Yes I musn't of listened very closely in Social Studies in Primary school... My bad. Anyway for thos who are in the same boat as me I googled in and thanks to Wikipedia this is the reason for our Australia Day Holiday!

Australia Day (previously known as Anniversary Day, Foundation Day, and ANA Day)[1] is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, the date commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788 and the proclamation at that time of British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of New Holland

What's on your Australia Day Menu???

You must have one of the following to truly celebrate the day....

A good old meat pie with a good dollop of tomato sauce!

Or a sausage roll....

A nice burger with the lot... don't forget the beetroot!

For dessert you can't go past a nice pavlova covered in fruit

For afternoon tea why not a nice lamington or a Tim Tam... no better way to celebrate the day!

How do you celebrate the day?....

Under the weather.....
