Hi.

Welcome to The Whimsical Wife. Thanks for popping in to share my adventures in the kitchen, in my home and my workshop as I Cook, Create & Decorate.

Whimsical Nursery Prints + Giveaway

Hey all... I know I didn't get to post a Tasty Tuesday post... and well I just couldn't face talking about food this week again. Hopefully I will be able to bring you something next week.

However I have been busy still. Just doing something a little bit different. A bit of graphic art has been happening over here at TheWhimsical Wife.

I have been dabbling a bit in drawing and designing nursery images for our nursery. I got inspired from a few gorgeous ones on Pinterest... Follow me here.

I loved them but just couldn't afford the price tag on each of them. I want to do a bit of a collage on the wall in the nursery with a variety of prints in a colour theme - depending on what the baby will be... and NO we will not be finding out what it is.

So after being thoroughly inspired by Pinterest I decided to go ahead and sketch a few images of my own with a little inspiration from what others were around. I had so much fun that before I realised it I had been working on these for hours and needed a bit of a break.

To make these images I simply sketched the images above and below neatly on white paper with a fine black pen. After I was happy with the result I scanned the image in black and white in to my photoshop program (I use Corel Photopro) This is where the fun began.... I then just coloured the image in using the flood fill tool and Voila... cute bunny rabbits and owls have come alive.

My brain literally came alive with so many ideas of other animals and sayings that I could do. I think I may just of created myself a new hobby. One that does not require a lot of energy thankfully because I seem to have a few good days and then BAM I go down. So this is what I will be doing on my off days. Sketching cute animals.

My two favourites so far is the Baby Girl/Boy Bunny and the Two Elephants. I think I am going to have a hard time narrowing down the ones I want to use in the babies room. Oh well I have plenty of time to choose.

I am also launching  My Store here today at The Whimsical Wife. So far you can purchase any of these high resolution images for $5 and print and frame them yourself.... Bargain if I don't say so myself. I will continually be adding more and more as they come alive on paper so keep checking back.

Since I haven't done a GIVEAWAY in a very long time I will do one today....
Simply enter below to be in the drawer to receive TWO of these Whimsical Nursery Images of your choice.
*Please note the prize is for two JPG images for you to print yourself*
Entries close 15th March 2012! So get entering my friends!
