My little boy has just turned 10 months old this past month.
I feel like I am still flying by the seat of my pants as a mum and parent and I
wonder if I will ever feel like I know what I am doing. I am always looking for
things to put into place that will help me as a mum and a parent. I was given
the opportunity to review a really wonderful product called the “I’ve got andOw” health journal. It is a really great product that I think all new mums
should invest in. Keep on reading to
learn more about it!
As a new parent you hope that your child will never be
unwell or suffer any type of injury. Unfortunately it is inevitable at some
stage in their early years they will experience some type of cold, fever,
scrape, bump, or bruise and heaven forbid some form of serious injury or
illness. As Monique Smart the creator of the “I’ve got and Ow” health journal
says, “Children hurt themselves and get unwell – it is part of their
development, the building of their immune system and life in general”. Monique came up with the idea and creation of
the “I’ve got an Ow” health journal through her own health journey with her son
aptly nicknamed “Spud”. You can read her story here.
This book is a purpose designed health journal to help keep
track of your child’s symptoms, illnesses, treatments, medications, health
practitioners and more. The journal allows a busy mum or dad to keep relevant
health information for each child in an organised and easy to find manner. It
won’t leave you racking your sleep deprived brain for certain medical or health
details that are beyond your memory. It is a great way to monitor your child’s
health and to have a recorded timeline for the development of a condition or
illness and details of symptom patterns and surrounding circumstances.
Inside the book you will find:
- Contact pages for your health care practitioners.
- Tables to record general health details and key development milestones.
- Over 70 pages to track your child’s symptoms, conditions and treatments.
- Useful first aid and children’s health resources
- Pockets for business cards, scripts and leaflets
- For Australian residents a useful phone number fridge magnet
The book itself is spiral bound and sturdily made to hold up being carried around in a handbag or nappy bag. Heavy weight paper is used up to make the pages of the book reducing the risk of ripped or torn pages and losing important information. I love the design of the book and how easy it to use. I think this book is well thought out and a very useful tool for any parent, new or old to consider having in their home.
This book retails at $24.95 but it is currently on sale for $21.95, you can buy them here. I have been given two copies of the journal to giveaway to my lucky readers. All you have to do is simply enter below. This is for Australian Residents only.
