Double Chocolate Walnut Brownies With Fudgy Chocolate Icing {DF, GF}
So here I am after a little while between blog posts. You could say where has she been? Well, it was an unintentional pause in posting that lead me to finding out that I just needed a break. Some time out of the constant pressures of the blogging world was needed. Did I rest? Well not exactly. There is no such thing as resting with three kids nor still working for freelance jobs that keep piling up. I realized I lost the joy in my blog and what it use to be for me. A creative outlet to express myself through cooking, creating and decorating. Something fun for me. It stopped being that when I felt there were standards set that I was trying to constantly reach that was near impossible for me as a mum of three.
The time it takes me to put together a post can be upwards of 6-8 hours (or even longer) in total from cooking and developing a recipe or DIY project, taking photos, creating a video, editing images, writing the post, editing, sharing on social media sites, then posting to sharing websites such as Pinterest etc. It's a labour of love that started becoming drudgery. After having a couple of month's off I think I have found some perspective and will try and do this for the love of it rather than what is expected of me. Or more like not putting heavy expectations on myself and stop looking at the numbers. Do you get me? So to celebrate my return I am offering brownies as a gift. Double Chocolate Walnut Brownies With Fudgy Chocolate Icing. Pure decadence at it's best.
I mean when you need to bring an offering of food somewhere I would highly suggest these Brownies, They are gooey and delicious with the crunch of walnuts throughout. All finished with a smothering of Fudgy Chocolate Icing. These are not for the health conscious but total worth it for a cheat meal. Fresh from the oven they are hard to resist but once the Fudgy Chocolate Icing is smothered over the top it becomes pretty next level. I mean just look at all the lusciousness. I couldn't stop licking the icing when I made it and the kids had their fingers in it too. It was just so darn good. I wanted to make something pretty naughty that could still be enjoyed by those with allergies. These can totally be made nut-free by omitting the walnuts in the batter. Just look at that Fudgy Chocolate Icing. I want to plant my face in it.
I hope you enjoy eating these beauties as much as I did. I had to pop them in the freezer quick smart before I ate the entire batch. So hard to stop at one. Hubby even gave these a double thumbs up as he normally screws his nose up at some of my allergy friendly cooking. These won his heart though. I hope they win yours.
