TWO!!! Free Printable Cactus Prints
I have been meaning to sit down and get this post up on the blog all last week but I was so run off my feet with freelance work, lots of baking for people, birthday cake making and general mother/wife stuff that I barely sat down to feed myself let alone concentrate writing for the blog. It was a mad week, to say the least, and I am glad to see it behind me. Plus we had Little Miss A & Miss H's birthdays on the weekend so I am partied out. Today I have some freebies to share with you. Free stuff is always a winner in my books and I hope you love these prints just as much as I do. I have been playing around with some watercolour paintings that I did and turning them into wall art that you can print off for your home FREE!!.
While I am not a professional artist by any means I do like to have a little dab here and there with watercolours and sometimes, just sometimes they turn out pretty okay. That's what happened with these cactus watercolours that I did a couple of weeks back. I intended just to create a print for myself that I could put on the wall and since it worked out I thought I should share it with you guys since I am the sharing kind of gal. I created two prints with different wording - "Live your best life every day!" and "Can't touch this!". One slightly serious and the other fun and quirky. I thouht I would cover all bases since some people want something fun and cute and others want something inspiring and motivational. Plus I couldn't decided which one I liked more so my indecision is your gain! :-)
I had to print off the prints a few times to get the colour right in the background. I am no pro at figuring out colours from the computer screen to real life printed versions. It took me a couple of tries before I settled on a colour that stood out enough and complimented the picture perfectly. I printed these at Officeworks and I was able to put my order through online and set it up to collect from my local store once it was done. It cost me something like $0.90. Bargain! I printed on 200gsm paper, uncoated white paper and it seemed thick enough for what I wanted. If you are a paper snob I apologise if I this makes you cringe. Ha. I have created the file to fit a 11"x14" frame. I picked mine up from Kmart for like $6 or something. Also, I couldn't help myself and grabbed two of those cute cactus candles as well.... oh and the gold pineapple... and the seagrass basket. Gosh, I love Kmart!
Anywho I thought I would let you know that you can print it for next to nothing if you feel your home printer might not stand up to the job. I would love to see where you put it in your home if you print it off and hang it somewhere. Make sure you tag me either on Instagram (@thewhimsicalwife) or Facebook (@thewhimsicalwife) so that I can share the love. Also, hashtag it #TWWmakes
I had so much fun styling these prints on my newly renovated mid-century side tables that hubby and I recently finished. The full project details will be coming soon so keep your eyes peeled for that. I can't decide which one to keep on my bedside table maybe I will just swap them out over the month and see which one speaks to me the most! In the meantime here is all the details for downloading the prints
Got a friend that loves Cactus as much as you do? Make sure you let them on the secret of free prints by sharing this post on your fave social media! I would love you forever if you do that! Thanks and have a great day guys!
