Slow Cooker Chipotle Hawaiian Chicken Burgers
I've been promising for a few weeks now to get the recipe for this Slow Cooker Chipotle Hawaiian Chicken Burgers up on the blog. I thought it mighty time I got my fingers into gear and typed up the recipe ready for you. I love developing new recipes to share with you and my favourite part is to style and photograph them to make your drool. The bit I hate the most is to sit down and write the recipe up. It does my head in sometimes. I guess you can't love everything about blogging. I wonder if there are people out their who write recipes up for bloggers who don't like it. Anyway back to these burgers. Let's not get off course because I totally want to tell you about how jolly good they are. I mean just look at that juicy burger below. So full of spicy chipotle chilli's, pineapple and layered with crunchy lettuce, tomato and creamy mayonnaise. Mmmmmm I seriously cannot walk past a good looking burger. Plus the best thing about these burgers is that you toss it all in a slow cooker and walk away. I mean how good is that. Talk about set and forget cooking.
These Slow Cooker Chipotle Hawaiian Chicken Burgers add some spice to your life and take you back to hot summer days where you are drinking ice cold pina coladas with cute little straws in it. Munching down on these drippy burgers and hot sweet potato chips. They were perfect to eat in mid-winter with the wind whipping outside and we were cosy in our flannelette pyjamas chowing down on these burgers dreaming of summer days. For those that are counting down the last of your summer days, you can make these and reminisce of the summer gone by. I just cannot wait to wear something other than jeans and jumpers. It was novel during autumn and early winter but now I just want to get my white legs out in the sunshine to get a tan. The only downside to that is having to shave the legs. I could do without that!
I made homemade sweet potato chips to go with these burgers but honestly make whatever chip you fancy. If you're feeling lazy just grab a bag from the supermarket. I feel you when those lazy cooking days are upon you. These Slow Cooker Chipotle Hawaiian Chicken Burgers are the epitome of lazy cooking and I cannot love them more. I have noted to pan fry the chicken before adding to the slow cooker as it adds a little more flavour to the dish, however, if you just could not be bothered doing that then just add it into the slow cooker raw. I used brioche buns which I picked up from my local Aldi and can I say finish the burgers off with a flourish. Plus they make them look like takeaway burgers. If you like me cannot have gluten don't feel left out with this recipe. I simply got myself some corn tortillas from the mexican section at Woolworths and made little soft tacos out of them with the shredded Chipotle Hawaiian Chicken meat in it topped with lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese. It was insanely delish.
If you do get round to making these burgers I would love to see your creations. Tag me over on Facebook or Instagram with your recipe creations.
